Perfect For Every Classroom By Busymommylist/Brandy Oliver We have a couple issues here at our house, at our school and we have had our share of bullies, all different types of bullies.It hurts a lot to have to send my oldest son to school sometimes and I sometimes wonder if some of his stomach pain isn't caused by stress from a couple kids in his school. He was diagnosed with a few disorders, like, celiac, gastroperisis, GERD, acid reflux and the latest, possible gall bladder disease.At the beginning of his school career, everything was fine, he had lots of friends and loved school and did exceptionally well with his grades. After a couple of years, as they grew up a little bit, my son started having bad stomach pains and was often sick, especially at night and in the morning. He always loved school, so, I didn't think there was anything wrong at school, so, we started taking him to our doctor and from there, GI specialists.Since he was diagnosed after several tests, I didn't think much about the fact that there could still be a problem with anybody at school.One day, I asked about one of his friends and he didn't really seem as happy as he usually was when talking about this specific friend. I figured right away, something was wrong and we ended up having a nice long chat about his "frenemy".He has a few very close friends, which is nice. I don't know why he decided to stay friends with this other boy at school, who started being mean, calling names, spreading rumors and just randomly making fun whenever he saw my son on the bus or at school.riends, including one of my son's friends, which really hurt him pretty bad. He still has his few close friends and we try to have them over as often as we can and we are dealing with his stomach concerns as best we can.To be honest, the school doesn't seem to be much help so, we do our best to include his friends, help with his self esteem, confidence and talk daily about his day, who did what, etc etc. Oh and now he has a younger sister who is attending the same school so, she has been known to stick up for her big brother on the school bus! (We try to teach our children how important family is and how important it is to stick together and help family or friends when they are in need So, we are very proud of her for that!)Stephanie Sorkin has written some of our most favorite books! This book, Frenemy Jane, is no exception!Now, my oldest son may think or act that he is to "big" for this book, BUT, he has heard his little sister read it and even made the remark that, "OMG! That is exactly how it started with ..."We love Stephanie Sorkin's books, because she writes about things that affect our children and she does it from a child's point of view! They are very easy to read, so, our 8 year old is always happy to read them, even to her class! (Her classmates were lucky enough this past year to listen to 3 different stories by Stephanie Sorkin and even her classroom received a copy of each book!)The illustrations are adorable and one of the best parts of this book, is the classroom discussion questions. This is a very important topic and sometimes I don't think that just having a "Bully Week" is enough. I wish, Frenemy Jane was in every classroom in every elementary school. The discussion questions in the back of this book, could be a whole lesson in class that I'm sure any teacher can fit in to their busy schedules!There is even a gluten free recipe in the back, which would make a wonderful ending to one of the most helpful books and discussions in class.Frenemy Jane follows a little girl named, Maddie, who has a "friend" named, Jane. They knew each other since preschool and have been friends for a while. However, as they get a little bigger, Jane starts to do mean things to Maddie and Maddie starts to question their friendship.Luckily, Maddie's mom started to notice something wasn't right, so, Maddie told her mom about her "friend" Jane and they and a nice long talk about their friendship. Maddie went to school the following Monday, with confidence and knew just what she had to do.

Now I just need the next one By Eric Gaspar Blood Lad Vol. 6 combines the original volumes 11 and 12 into one package, just like the other volumes released by Yen Press. I love this manga and to see the story continue is great! I just hope the next volume comes out in a timely fashion.

A good fast storyline that pulls you in and characters you get invested in. Buying the series all together is a big plus and helps you keep the storyline in order. If you do get confused go to the Author's blog and he has it all graphed out. Joining his fan club has big benefits to. Enjoy the read.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic Series! By Erin Fagan This is a series based on the twists and turns prevelent in all relationships. It's an entertaining journey that pulls you in and forces you to see a world from many different points of view. Even if relationships break or start or re-mend, the main characters have good reasons for following their hearts. And they have even better reasons for following the voice of reason inside their heads. Many people need the dominant in their pack to be strong, but the dominant needs someone to rely on too. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do. Have fun!

It is a little Twilight-y, beautiful human girl who's doesn't realize she's beautiful moves to a new town, and falls in lust/like/love with 2 equally hot guys. There's a very Alice-like sister who loves to take Adri shopping, and buy her expensive clothes that Adri doesn't really feel comfortable with, a jealous Jessica-like "frenemy" with a huge crush on the boys who like Adri . One of the hot guys seems to blows hot and cold, but of course he's her lab partner, and after a date gone wrong with one guy, the other swoops in to save her. It turns out Adri is different from other humans and she has unique skill which is part of the attraction and curiosity. (does all of this sound familiar?)From that point on, it stops being twilight-ish. However, the author spends a ton of time leading up to the confrontation between the two guys, and despite how wordy he is with every other fight, this one is explained in a paragraph, or less. From there the series was still interesting but instead of picking the main characters and finishing the story by focusing on them, and then later giving stories to a few interesting minor characters, the author has dedicated WHOLE books to minor characters before finishing the story. And in the case of A Greater Darkness and Darkness Mirrored it looks like some of the characters involved in the story lines of some of those minor characters will also be getting whole books dedicated to them as well. Meanwhile, as near as I can tell in the 13 books this author has written about this universe, the overall story is still unresolved, we have no idea what becomes of Alec and Adri, or most of their friends. I'd rather he combine some of the side stories into one or 2 books or even an entire spinoff series AFTER he finishes the story of Alec and Adri instead of wasting my time with whole books to lesser characters, that I don't actually have an interest in. EVERYONE in this universe does NOT need a story of their own, and the further I get into these side stories the less I ultimately care about the main story or reading any more of these books to get to the ultimate conclusion. I would give this 4 stars but I'm really annoyed that I've read 11 of his books before peeking at the end of Lost only to realize that and this story is still unfinished. I'm really not interested in reading 4 or 5 more books, especially if they're about minor characters to find out how all of this ends. Wrap it up already

This is the story of the authors flying career predominately in Papua New Guinea. The book is full of the authors flying stories written in a very Robert Mason (chickenhawk) style interspersed with humour that keeps it very enjoyable. The author has done his research there is some great history about the islands of PNG and the explorer types that have graced its shores. The analyses of a few of the aircraft accidents is also a reminder to the reader why this country has such a reputation. It brought back a lot of memories and laughs particularly the characters that were flying in PNG at the time. The book is very readable and anyone who has an interest in aviation or a bit of adventure will enjoy it.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Entertaining account of a pilot's journey from PNG to Asia. By Bradley Drew As someone who to a large extent "copied" Matt's career 10 years later, and knowing a lot of the people mentioned, I found his colourful accounts very entertaining. His research filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge of people and places and stories that I've heard over the years. I think this book will join others as an authoritative account of a certain time in PNG's aviation (and wider) history. I would recommend it especially to any aspiring young pilots, but also to some older pilots who need a refresher in the highs and lows of aviation. I would like to see the book in paperback one day.

Key to Peace By Diane Maglioli Edith and Dana start out as enemies, but life throws a curve to Edith and the world she lives in is not what it appears to be. Her life is about to change drastically when Charles enters her life and the truths start to be revealed. This book is very well written and filled with emotions, suspense, surprises and fantasy. The author's descriptions are so detailed you can image the creatures, places, and scenery as she created them. I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Cute Alien Antics By Canadian Reader This is a cute, little book that my grandchildren enjoy having read to them, and one, which has a novel idea for the storyline. The illustrations are fun, colorful, and well done. The focus of the story is Zigi, a friendly alien that really was a treat to meet. The story is told in such a way that you feel like you're there with Zigi, anticipating where he'll find his next sock, and wondering if he'll be caught, as he sneaks it away. Zigi is creative in discovering where he might find humans without their shoes on and where the smelliest of socks can be found. I’d recommend this book to anyone with small children that have discovered the thrill of reading.

All the tiny elements required for a great and innovative book for children By Helpful Advice 'Zigi the Alien and the Stinky Socks' written by Nirit Littaney with the artwork made by Abira Das brings the charming story about a one unusual alien – though very friendly and harmless Zigi is visiting the planet Earth to collect the socks of all types.Zigi has a problem, on his home planet there are no socks and even the shoes do not exist, therefore Zigi has to come to Earth in order to get stinky socks… But his next visit will be different than the previous ones, the quest for stinky socks was never so challenging…Nirit Littaney with her cute story introduces to the young readers one special and a very different alien character that unlike the other aliens does not come from outer space to take something valuable from people - but their smelly socks.The book is full of humor and emphasizes the importance of children taking care of their own clothes - the kids after its reading will even be more respectful for their socks finding out that someone else from other planet may want them.Together with the imaginative story, this children book is characterized by the great artwork – the vivid illustrations made with bright colors will be a treat for preschool children.Besides cute story, charming main character and even the important lesson provided by this book, because of its simplicity and easiness of reading this will be a great introduction for kids into the exciting world of children literature.Therefore, my big recommendations for Nirit Littaney and Abira Das work – they two managed to combine all the tiny elements required for a great and innovative book for children to be created.I was given a copy of this book by the author for the purpose of unbiased review, while all the presented information is based on my impressions.

By Grady Harp Israeli author Nirit Littaney is a nutritionist, medical coach, and spiritual leader. After being confined to her bed for years by an incurable illness, Nirit experienced the same triumph of spirit that many of her characters undergo in their journeys through lands near and far. She has successfully joined the ranks of children's books writers - but her stories, while humorous, encourage children to stretch their imagination while learning some valuable lessons. She Has wisely elected to have the very talented Abira Das provide the illustrations for this her second of four children's book to appear on Kindle.We meet Zigi, a friendly harmless alien who visits Earth to gather socks - stinky ones being his favorite: on his home planet of Nepi no one wears socks and Zigi and his friends play with socks the way Earth children play with toys. On this trip to Earth his search for stinky socks leads him to a high rise where he discovers a snoring man in front of a TV and creeps into the window and lifts on of the man's sticky socks. He makes a trip to the beach (his planet has no beaches) and notices that the sun turns his normal green skin purple! While on the beach he lifts another sticky sock, then goes to a mall (his skin turns back to green out of the sun) and lifts a blue stinky sock from a shoe store patron. Next stop: kindergarten where he lifts a red stinky sock. Then on to a laundromat and finds a stinky white sock, and to a park where he finds a green sticky sock. With a bit of intuition Zigi goes to a gym and swipes a black smelly sock, and running from the gym he encounters a dumpster that contains a pick stinky sock with a hole it. 8 stinky socks total - so Zigi returns to his space ship to take home his fortune. Toys to share with all his friends!The characters and the situation are delightful and this is a story that is bound to make children chuckle. Nirit knows her craft and continues to create terrific books for children. Grady Harp, May 15

This is a very well written book, profound and very compelling. In this book you'll learn the beauty of being a father. You'll get excellent advice on how to be the coolest dad ever, dad who keeps his time in-check, dad who has a time for everything work, family and of course the little ones, dad who loves and protects his children and dad who goofs around. Brilliant! A must read!

A child needs both parents; his mother and his father. The traditional role of the parents- the mother takes care for the children and the father provides for his family, does not fit today. The book highlights the importance of the father's ro;e and personal example for his children (boys and girls). The book also provides ideas how to spend time together with the children . No one will love you more than your child (and your family) , so enjoy their company . I highly Recommend the book

By Denise Bolds This oversized childens picture book is a visual/verbal feast for adults - I find myself looking at my copy at least once a day. The artwork is amazing and I LOVE picking out the many history makers that you will find throughout this amazing book. The artwork, the poems, the quotes are all combined to make a book that is a story within a story - this book is a wonderful gift and a great keepsake.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Teachers, you want this book. By Rasha Hamid I shared this beautifully written and illustrated book with 3rd and 4th graders. They loved the artwork and recognized many historical figures. I used the book to initiate whole-class conversations on what it means to be American in a largely first/second generation immigrant school community. The children were thoroughly engaged and fascinated by this gorgeous book and the discussion that ensued. Many children saw themselves/their families/home countries in the illustrations. The read-aloud also elicited many questions about the time periods in which various scenes took place. While there's more text than I would read to younger kids in one sitting, I'm sure younger children would gain lots from talking about the illustrations and reading selected portions of the text. This would be a thought-provoking independent read, read-aloud or group read for older students, as well.

Absolutely beautiful. A great hook when introducing a unit lesson, especially on immigration (for older children) or American history in general (4th grade). A variety of project one can use with this book as well. An outstanding book!
