About the Author Salvador Mercer loves Epic Fantasy. Having read all of Tolkien's works, and enjoying the many wonderful stories and tales by many other countless authors, he hopes to share the same delightful experience with those who also enjoy reading in the Fantasy genre. Thus the world of Claire-Agon was created, though imagined would be just as an appropriate word to describe this Fantasy setting. Basing the world's evolution, magic, and history on a scientific foundation, the Claire-Agon books come alive to relate tales and stories from our not too distant neighbors orbiting Tau Ceti not twelve light years distant. The stories are inspired by past author greats, but written and moved forward by Mercer where he sincerely hopes that the stories delight and entertain the reader. He invites you to enter the world of Claire-Agon, and hopes you share with him your experience there. Salvador Mercer is fluent in English, Russian and Spanish, loves languages, history, reading and science. He lives with his three boys, a baby (elf), toddler (hobbit), teenager (orc), and wife Masha.

The protagonist is authentic, and his journey is surprising and action packed. There are several well written strong female characters. Mercer writes action and dialogue very well.I needed the next book immediately. I'm so glad this is a series - the world building is fantastic and I want to know more!

It is a great beginning for an ongoing series. The youthful protagonist is likable and has what it takes to develop a series following. I recommend the book.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A "Coming of Age" story... for the ages! By Josh Cecil The tumultuous years of high school are often where many of our best life stories come from. It's these stories that we tell when we reminisce with old high school buddies every few years over a few beers. We discuss the glory days of our athletic prowess and we laugh at our awkwardness, cringing with embarrassment at some of the things we said and did. Bill Kenley captures those moments in the story of Sherman Kindle's freshmen year on the cross country team at Pensgap High School. As Sherman navigates his entry into adolescence he must learn to deal with a coach who is unstable at best, a senior captain on the cross country team who is a bully, and his very own twin brother who is a constant embarrassment. Kenley manages to create a narrative that takes the coming of age genre and interjects it with clever wit to create moments that are both heartwarming and laugh out loud funny.

Having the pleasure of attending Bill Kenley's creative writing class years ago, this book really brought back memories of his wit and charm, evidenced throughout the prose. He has the unique ability to simultaneously amuse and provoke deep reflection. I was never a runner myself and, admittedly, my most favorite parts of the book weren't related to running at all. My only minor complaint, for lack of a better word, is there weren't more of those scenes. Still, I feel as though everyone can gain something from this story. One of the greatest strengths of this book, attributed of course to Mr. Kenley's talent as a writer and a storyteller, is how alive these characters feel. Sherman and Coach, especially. I look forward to Sherman's highs and lows during his sophomore year.

Running+Fun+Teammates+life moments=A Great Running Story=Cross Country By kent graham This story is not only about running but of the real life experiences beyond running. Bill Kenley is able to intertwine the intricacies of running and training into life of a student/runner. As a high school XC coach of 40 seasons I enjoyed this book immensely. The terminology, the workouts, course names and competitive moments are very exciting. Yet, the story has so much more to offer. Bill is able to weave the outside of training life and the sport into a very interesting, enjoyable, and fun story. There are so many laughable moments it makes this book a must read. Current cross country runners, alumni XC who have fond memories of the sport, to the casual sport enthusiast will have a hard time putting the book down.I can hardly wait to read the "sophomore year"! Great Story, Gripping moments, lots of fun!

Romance at its best By Deana I was given a copy of this box from the authors for an honest reviewFrom the moment I started reading the first book in this collection, I knew I was in for a treat. Each book has a different plot but they are all filled with hope, unexpected challenges and writing that had me laughing , crying, and cheering for happy endings.I found myself at times holding my breath as I read each page , not knowing if I could wait till the end to find out what happens. Each author wrote books that captures an audience and keeps their attention with their unique, whitty style.I honestly can't answer the question of which book did I like the most. I loved them all and applaud the authors for some of the best well written , entertaining romance novels out on the market. The collection gives readers characters that are realistic and takes you on a journey as they search for the One.It is a fun filled collection that I found hard to put down. I stayed up late into the night, because I had to know how each story ended.Thank you to each author for your contribution to this collection of stories that will be loved and cherished by readers.

Delightful Reads By Joy S Seasons of Love, a Box Set containing five delightful novellas by noted romance authors, is a perfect choice for times you need a break from the craziness of our world. Each story is different, yet compelling in its own way. In Wedding and a Promise by Merry Holly, a prospective bride is concerned when she realizes her fiancé is filthy rich and there’s so much she doesn’t know about him. In Bobbi Lerman’s Unexpected Match, a nurse hooks up with a restored coma patient to whom she’s revealed her innermost thoughts. Stacy Hoff had me craving chocolate in Love Delights, when coworkers compete for a promotion and end up you know where. Beachcomber Valentine is actually part of by Stephanie Queen’s Beachcomber Series, continuing the angst between two detectives who lust after each other but can’t quite get it together. I loved multi-published Gerri Brousseau’s English caper, Puppy Love. Two dogs, who are smitten, lead a wealthy Lord to find true love. All the stories in this volume are light and fun to read—a good reason to buy the book.

I wish more anthologies from these authors get published again in the near future. The stories were light-hearted, and the tales were fast paced - I finished this in one afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed "An Unexpected Match" by Bobbi Lerman. It tells the story of Sylvie, a down on her luck nurse who finds her fate under watchful eye of Tillie the Matchmaker. With a little help from her friends and Tillie's magical matchmaking skills, Sylvie finds herself in a romance with a former patient. This story was very descriptive, the cast of characters were all well developed and very colorful. The author did a great job of letting the audience understand Sylvie's heartbreak and her journey back to the land of joy and love. Looking forward to reading a future anthology again!

From the Author What inspired the author to write this book?

Many things inspired me to write this book such as raising my two girls, seeing tons of princess-related items in the girls' aisles at toy stores, and meetingWh so many exceptional women. I felt it was time to bid farewell to the kingdom we live in and explore beyond the kingdom.

What do the author hope that children will learn from this book?

Media and literature are powerful influencers so, it is critical to expose to our children to stories that are underrepresented. This book has a strong theme underlying of remaining true to yourself regardless of what the society or majority thinks. It is okay to not follow the crowd and walk alone. It's tough to do that, but when you do that...the rewards are ten times more rewarding. As a Deaf person and an innovator, I've been through the road many times. Be bold, be who you are.

How did the author come up with the title Shay & Ivy Beyond the Kingdom?

Shay & Ivy are names of my two girls. Beyond the Kingdom is a metaphor that means many things to different people. Beyond the Kingdom is a barrier - something, be a situation or person or challenge, that's restricting us. We must find within ourselves the strength to go past that very kingdom. It also means another thing to me...Being a princess is almost every girl's dream, BUT we cannot forget our pilots, astronauts, scientists, and police who are women. Where are they in films? books? stores? The title Beyond the Kingdom gives the place for girls to explore past the kingdom to see what's out there.

Why did the author pick those particular occupations in the book?

When I had my first daughter, I set up an event called "The Pearls" to honor Deaf women across America. Since the establishment of The Pearls, 42 Deaf women have been awarded as Pearls - in 2011 and 2014. They are movers and shakers in their fields. Be it an artist, politician, writer, business owner, founder/president, and athlete. Each one hold a pearl within themselves - layered, dignified, and strong. So, when I began to write Shay & Ivy Beyond the Kingdom, some of the Pearls came to mind. Moreover, I've also checked online to see which jobs that women are not large in number. With these two in mind, that's how I came to selecting those particular occupations and putting them into this very book.

About the Author Sheena McFeely was born in Hong Kong to an Irish father and a Hong Kongese mother. Shortly after her parents' discovery of Sheena being Deaf, America called their names. Being the first in her family to go to college, Sheena graduated from CSUN with a BA in Visual Communications and will be receiving her MA in Sign Language Education this year. Sheena is known for founding ASL Nook, an online hub of ASL teaching webisodes, that has received acclaims from families and schools everywhere. If not for ASL Nook, her first children's book "Shay & Ivy Beyond the Kingdom" would have never happened.

An Intelligent Book for Young Inquiring Minds By Coralie L-J My 11 year-old daughter found this book, An Igloo on the Moon, fascinating not only because of the beautiful, sweet illustrations, but because it's packed-full of inspiring ideas about how buildings are built, and how different cultures in various parts of the world respond to environmental conditions. The information is intelligently written, presented in non-technical language, so no one gets flummoxed. The author skillfully condenses a potentially complex topic into easy-to-read, engaging chapters, where you can dip into it from time to time. The book is as appealing to a child, as it is to adults, who want to learn about different approaches to building houses. It's astonishing what I've learned reading the book myself. It makes an ideal first introduction to architecture. A wonderful gift for any young budding architects, the author knows how to connect with children and young people, without dumbing down the information. I highly recommend this fabulous book; it's different from anything else out there.

About the Author Kim Oates is a pediatrician who trained in Sydney, London, and Boston. In 2000 he received the Kempe Award for “Outstanding contributions to the community on behalf of children," the first time this had been awarded outside the USA. By Everett At no doubt, this will definitely give kids a great point of view towards the rapture through the eyes of four teenagers who are experiencing it themselves. If your kid has questions, and confusions about the Rapture, the Left Behind Kids version is sure to have them understanding it, and also giving them a good story to think about for the near future, and of course, entertainment.Judd, Vicki, Lionel and Ryan think they know it all. None of them believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, and none believe in God. With Judd a running away from his parents, Vicki rebelling against her parents conversion, Lionel lying about being a Christian, and Ryan skeptisysing about his friends faith, the four will come together to realize there was more to life, and God that was there all the time, they just wouldn't take the time to believe it.I recieved the first book (which is the first four books in all) for my birthday, and was a little skeptical about them at first. A few months before I had started to read the adult Left Behind books, but to no avail for the fact that they were too old for me (I was twelve at the time). After re-discovering them a month later, I was hooked on them. Not only were they entertaining, but they gave an easy understanding towards the Rapture for kids.Even if adults have trouble understanding the Rapture and the end times, it'll provide an easy understanding, and have them (as I did) rexamine their faith through these books.An instant five stars. And remember, if you refuse to believe the Rapture, just make sure you have plenty of places to go afterwards, because there will be no place to hide.

I read it because it was hard to put down and the story intertwined the adult series books and stayed true to the original story line but from a teen's perspective. Just as reading about Narnia didn't teach me to talk to lions or watching sci-fi made me learn about quantum physics. If the book says it's " fiction " then sit back and enjoy the story.If you are searching for God, read the right book. It should be a reference or non-fiction genre.

14 of 18 people found the following review helpful. Good Book, stays true to Adult version of series By DaughteroftheKing I've read the adult series and enjoyed it. As a Christian who enjoys fiction writing I know it's sometimes not easy to separate fact from fiction. This book follows the "what if" principles of the Book of Revelation. It doesn't say that this is HOW it's going to happen, it gives a fictional perspective on how it plays out in the authors mind based on what the Book of Revelation says. Anyone who tries to tie the theology to it and make it into a "fact" is not reading the book for the story. That said, this series is really good for teens and does make a teen think about the "what if's" related to the Bible. Excellent Reading and a great page turner for the younger sect.
