About the Author I am grateful for the life I have lived and I try to make every day be the best it can be. I never pass up an opportunity to make memories with my family and friends. I am married to my high school sweetheart and love of my life. We have two adult children and two grandchildren. We live in the beautiful State of New Hampshire. I have had a very wonderful life and have been in many different work environments. I have been an entrepreneur, a stay at home mom, a health officer for the city I lived in, an X-Ray Technologist doing Mammography and Bone Densitometry, VP of a Corporation that my husband and I own, a Trauma Intervention Volunteer, Public speaker and an author. I have found giving of myself to help others is my joy. I have been very fortunate to have lived my passion in two different fields. By Wood Worker A great primer on explaining what should be done by families now. The various documents are explained in simple terms and each chapter provides a foundation for making plans for the end of one's life and communicating those plans with family members. I found the book easy to read and the stories provided real examples of the difficulties and consequences faced in the last moments.

This Book Belongs on Every Bookshelf By SuzyQ It is too bad that most people won’t read this book until they are in a crisis mode, facing the death of a close family member or friend – or even their own demise. This is a very important guide for stimulating end-of-life discussions, and a copy should be on the bookshelf of every American home. Ultimately, we will all face situations that will require the helpful and sensitive systematic guidance this book provides.When someone dies, there is more to do than just planning a funeral. What about bank accounts, wills, credit card bills, personal property, insurance and the dozens of other details that need attention? Depending on how prepared the deceased was for his own demise, the activities involved in bringing closure to the business aspect of death could take months or years. This book will help cut down the amount of red tape someone will have to go through when faced with an expected or even unplanned death.Written in a straightforward and easy-to-understand tone, the author provides sensible advice and “To Do” lists of items that need to be checked during all aspects of the dying and grieving processes. Whether it is a partner or a parent who has passed on, or God-forbid, a young child, the book can be a comfort to someone who does not know where to turn.In addition to the practical suggestions about planning a funeral, there is also comprehensive information about wills, estates, probate, advanced medical directives, “do not resuscitate” orders and even organ donation. The author, Marie Robinson, did a good job of covering an unpleasant, yet important topic for the readers.Although it is likely that a lot of the information covered will not sink in if this book is read at the time of a loss, it is still a must-have for the bookshelf of anyone immediately expecting a death in the family. Well worth the short read By Jil Spangenberg This book was written conversationally, so while informative, it was easy to understand and read like a conversation between dear friends. I do like her writing style.The information in the book is not anything "new", but many things I hadn't thought about. When I got to the point about wills, and trusts, etc, I must confess that I had a "Oh here we go... THIS will be fun" attitude. It was not dull and drab. But then AFTER that section there is a list of things we do not think about, but after going through this with my Mom, I was reminded how many details there really are that need to be covered.I went to her website after reading the book and downloaded for free this list. It's comprehensive and necessary to have if you want to make things as easy as possible for those you leave behind. I may go out and purchase my own copy to have on hand. It would make a great reference tool to go through annually. After all, things change. You might change credit card companies... did you change the list when you did? An annual review of this process would be recommended.Thank you, Miss Marie for taking the time to compile then write this all out. VERY informative!Please note: While I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review, the review is honest, and all mine. This is worth the few hours to read.
