2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A fine start to this series By Mainer Little Girl Lost is a story of a young girl betrayed by an uncaring family. This first part of this short story series tells how Star is often left hungry and dirty because of her father and stepmother's gambling addiction. Sent to stay with strangers her life becomes better and worse. It is told from Star's viewpoint which gives her story even more poignancy. It is very well written and a fine start to this series. While a sad story, it is also a story that begs to be told.

By Emerald I wish I could slap Joey, that devil of a boy!This is a very emotional story of a little girl whose parents gave her up so she could live a better life. Everything was going fine until Joey made her do things she didn't understand.What I don't understand is why Diane assumed that she was guilty. Diane, the adult told the little girl Star, that Joey didn't make her do anything. That was so wrong.
