“I loved CHARMED . . . I couldn't turn the pages fast enough!” raves Amy Tintera, author of Reboot, of the sequel to HEXED. Indie has spent the last few weeks frantically searching for Paige. She’s tried every spell imaginable, but witchcraft has gotten her nowhere, and she’s going crazy with guilt. Despite what her warlock boyfriend, Bishop, tells her, Indie knows it’s her fault her best friend was kidnapped by the Priory. And with the Priory destroyed, finding Paige feels more hopeless than ever—especially when Indie discovers that Paige isn’t even on Earth. She’s trapped in Los Demonios, an alternate dimension of Los Angeles filled with evil paranormals. No one who has gone there has ever come out.Fueled by terror and loyalty, Indie is desperate to find a way into the underworld prison. She’ll worry about getting out later. But facing the dark world’s most dangerous witches and warlocks on her own means keeping her plan hush-hush—and forging alliances with some sketchy people, including a seriously sexy sorcerer. Sometimes a witch must keep secrets from the people she cares about most. And sometimes she isn’t the only one with secrets. . . .  “CHARMED left me spellbound!” —Amy Plum, author of the internationally bestselling Die for Me series"Well worth picking up, as it stands out from the pack of modern fantasy with a meaty backstory and dark humor."--Booklist“Snappy dialogue, a satisfyingly epic battle, and unexpected heroes make for a conclusion that will satisfy.”—Kirkus Reviews“Teens who enjoy paranormal witchcraft with a dose of Mean Girls mixed in will enjoy both Hexed and Charmed.”--VOYAPraise for HEXED “[A] mash-up of Mean Girls and The Craft.”--Booklist“Fast-paced, with sizzling tension!” —Victoria Scott, author of Fire & Flood"Plenty of shocking twists and turns.” —School Library Journal

From School Library Journal Gr 9 Up—Former cheerleader Indigo Blackwood is still exploring her newly awakened supernatural powers after an epic battle over a magic witch's bible left in her family's care has left her mother dead and Indie in the care of her reformed party-animal aunt. After getting caught up in an ancient witch and sorcerer rivalry, Indigo's childhood friend Paige is banished to a hellscape alternate dimension of Los Angeles called Los Demonios. Paige's family has had their memories erased and are unconcerned about their missing daughter, while Indie's aunt Penny and boyfriend Bishop are convinced that postapocalyptic Los Demonios is far too dangerous for them to attempt a rescue. Forced to carry out her rescue mission in secret, Indigo experiences a brief flirtation with warlock Cruz that makes her question her relationship with Bishop and uncovers a deadly sorcerer plot that threatens teens kidnapped from Los Angeles. Indigo must also grapple with some shocking secrets about her supernatural heritage. VERDICT Krys's sequel to Hexed (Delacorte, 2014) wraps up everything fairly neatly, while still laying the groundwork for future novels in the series with hints of a school for witchcraft and wizardry in New York.—Madigan McGillicuddy, Atlanta-Fulton Public Library, Atlanta, GA

Review "Once again, Krys stirs up a mesmerizing brew brimming with witches, warlocks, and an alternate-dimension demonic Los Angeles. Consider me spellbound!"--Amy Plum, international bestselling author of the DIE FOR ME series."I loved CHARMED! Indigo is a funny, complex, and utterly lovable heroine. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough!"--Amy Tintera, author of REBOOT and REBEL.

By Stephanie Ward 4.5 Stars'Charmed' is the second book in a thrilling young adult paranormal series. The story picks up where the first left off - with our main character, Indie, having barely escaped a series of brutal attacks with her life. Her best friend, Paige, was taken by the crazy (and now dead) Leo - and Indie is still doing everything in her power to find her and bring her home safely. Indie feels that it's her fault Paige was kidnapped, and is determined to do whatever it takes to fix it - even when she finds out that Paige is actually in an evil alternate dimension of Los Angeles. It's a horrible place filled with the worst and most dangerous witches, warlocks, and sorcerers. Indie's determined to find a way into Los Demonios - which is basically a prison located in the underworld. In order to save her friend, Indie will have to team up with some dangerous people - not to mention a hot sorcerer. Will she be able to get into Los Demonios and find Paige before it's too late?I'm a seriously huge fan of any book dealing with witches and witchcraft, so this book (and series) immediately grabbed my attention. I'm glad that they did, because this series is very well written with a perfect blend of multiple genres, which will definitely appeal to fans of all types of fiction. Indie is a fantastic main character for the book (and series). She's intelligent, strong, caring, devoted, loving, and full of determination. The first book showed a lot of character growth for Indie, and I enjoyed watching her mature throughout the story. In this installment, she continues to grow as a person - as both a regular person and as a witch. There are more tough situations that she has to deal with throughout the story, like going to Los Demonios to rescue Paige, that bring her character close to breaking - only to have her come back stronger than ever. I liked watching Indie continue to grow and to be more confident in who she is as a whole - both normal teen and witch. I was able to immediately fall right back into Indie's world within the first couple paragraphs of the book - and it felt like I had never left. Everything was written in detail with great attention to detail and vivid imagery - to the point where I could easily close my eyes and imagine myself going through the story with Indie. Another huge aspect for me was the author's use of first person point of view. I talk about the importance of point of view in almost every review, because I truly believe that it plays a major role in how the reader experiences the story. First person POV is by far my favorite because the reader gets to really know the narrator - who is usually the main character as well - on a deeply personal level that can't be achieved in any other way. We get a look inside their minds - how they are experiencing everything that's happening during the story, along with their fears, hopes, dreams, inner thoughts, memories, and so much more. The bond that the reader is able to create with the narrator with this writing style is incredibly intimate. It also gives the story a conversational tone, which I think makes it flow more naturally and helps the reader to immerse themselves fully into the book.Everything about this book was fantastic - it surpassed any expectations and hopes I had for it after reading the first one. The characters - including the major and even some minor ones - were all unique with their own personalities and traits. The setting was basically just like our world - except for the whole witch/warlock aspect. But in this book we get to experience the underworld for a while in Los Demonios. The author did a wonderful job transporting the reader into this magical and terrifying place, just as she did with the rest of the book. The story had a quick yet natural pace, except for when things were getting really suspenseful and full of action, and it made it even faster. I found myself devouring each page to see what was going to happen next and ended up reading the whole book in one sitting. It's definitely a page-turner that's full of everything you could ask for - action, adventure, excitement, paranormal aspects, witches, fantasy, and even romance. Because of this great blend of genres, the book will appeal to fans of all types of fiction. There's a bit of something for everyone inside. Overall, I definitely recommend this book (and series) to all readers - especially those who love stories about witches, along with paranormal and fantasy fiction. The only thing I hate about series is having to wait for what feels like forever for the next installment to come out, which is what I have to do now - but I'll deal with it because I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next book!Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Love This Series By Amazon Customer Indie is back and she is freaking out, literally, she has spent the last few weeks looking for her best friend Paige with no luck. She has tried every spell that she and her boyfriend Bishop can think of, but witchcraft has done her no good. And she is getting tired of people telling her that it's not her fault, she knows that it's her fault that Paige was kidnapped by the Priory. And now that the Priory is destroyed? Finding Paige it's getting to be even harder, but not impossible, that's what Indie believes and it ends up been true.Indie ends up finding out that Paige is not in Earth, she is trapped in Los Demonios, an alternate dimension of Los Angeles, an underworld prison. A prison filled with evil paranormals, where those evil paranormals go and don't ever come out. Indie desperate to get her best friend out of that cruel underworld prison, tries and finds a way to get there and decides to worry later about a way to get out of there. But that also means keeping that plan hush-hush from her boyfriend and her aunt, because they certainly wouldn't like to know about her going to face the world's most dangerous witches and warlocks on her own. And so she keeps it a secret from them and forms alliances with some sketchy people, including a seriously sexy sorcerer. But on the way she learns that she isn't the only one keeping secrets after all. She learns secrets about her aunt and her mother and her father, some secrets that she wishes she never found out that's for sure. Not going to much in depth in these secrets, because what fund would it be for YOU to read it after, right?I really enjoyed this book, there were a lot of action and lots and lots of twists, which are my favorite things in a book. There were times that I wish Indie wasn't keeping so much from Bishop but at the same time I understood where she was coming from. I loved Bishop, he was amazing in the first book and still amazing in this one, perfect boyfriend. Her aunt was pretty great in this book, I kind of hated her at the beginning of the book, but as the book progressed and the secrets came out you got to understand her and root for her at the end.4 out of 5 stars, the end was pretty amazing and wrap up a lot, but I still think a lot can be done with this series and I cannot wait for the next book.Have you read these books? What do you think of the series so far?

Missing what made the first book special By Graves I know I'm not the target audience for htis book , but I enjoyed the first book in the series, about Indigo, a California teen whio discovers she's a hereditary witch caught up in a magical war with another faction, that I jumped at the chance to preorder the next book. This was however definately a case of look before you leap.Picking up where the las book ended Indigo is frantically looking for her besty friend who had been kidnapped by the other faction to use as leverage. Unfortunately the leader of the faction who knew where she was hidden was killed, in the last book before anyone knew they needed to ask him where the girl was.Feeling guilty for getting her friend involved and frantic to find her while everyone else is trying to move on, Indi becomes more and more the rebellious teen, lashing out against the well meaning family and friends who are trying to hold her back as she starts to realize there is much more at stake than just one missing friend. So far, so good. so why did this drop in ratings for me to only 3 stars? Becasue somewhere between this book and it's predecessor some of the joy, the sparkle faded from the writing. In the first book Indigo was clearly a teen ager, a happy high schooler who had to adjust to the world of magic around her. There was a sense of wonder and 'you gotta be kidding me' to her. In this book, starting only days after the last one ended she is fully adjusted to this. She wants to learn more magic but she is no longer surprised by such things as a magically hidden occult bizzare at Venice Beach or horrific monsters. It's suddenly become 'wow gotta deal with these' rather than 'how is this happening?" and her acceptance is just too pat.Again I'm not the target audience, BUT target or not I did love the first volume. So much so I bought the second only to be deeply disdappointed by the sophomore work. I'm sure others might enjoy Indigo's further adventures but for me, the sparkle that made book one special, was snuffed out.
