It teaches children to see challenges as opportunities, like how one thing can lead to another thing. It teaches children how to not easily get discouraged and how to stay strong. It shows a great example of how to respond to challenges and how to divert negative into something positive. The book has a very eye-catching illustration. The free coloring book is definitely a plus!

This moviestar-handsome young man received his BS (cum laude) in Computer Engineering from the Technion Israel Institute Of Technology, and with this background under his belt he approaches a particularly strong passion for coaching children to discover their inner strengths and to guide them on the path of continuing studies throughout life. `He loves the challenge of early education, and especially enjoys working with children with learning difficulties. He has found great satisfaction in helping them conquer their fears and overcome the challenges associated with their education.' And so now he has departed his computer engineering career to devote full time to developing children's books and assisting children with learning difficulties. His stories are enhanced by fine illustrations by Oliver Bundoc, entertaining lines of development, and of course valuable lessons. We meet Sharon - smart, talented, good student with many activities at school - who for the most part was happy. After school one day she stopped by her father's restaurant in need of a talk, being overwhelmed by upcoming events - a ballet recital, a math test, and a spelling bee. Her father was happy to see her but asked what was troubling her and when Sharon shared all the things that were overwhelming her, her father took her into the restaurant's kitchen where he place three pots of water on the stove, and while waiting for the three pots to boil he showed her three bowls - one with carrots, another with eggs, and third with teabags. Sharon examined each, described the qualities of each and watched as her father put each of the three bowls of contents into the separate boiling pots. Once finished her father told her to examine the contents and explained that each item faced the same challenge - time in boiling water - and each reacted differently, responding to the challenge with positive change. And Sharon's sense of being overwhelmed disappeared. `'She decided to change her perspective and focus on why she enjoyed each activity and remember why they were important to her.' Her kind and wise father shares some philosophy with Sharon - that `the only thing that truly matters is hat happens within us - over this alone do we have control.' And presto! - an attitude change for Sharon: to tackle her responsibilities with a positive attitude. This is one of Assaf's strongest books to date - writing, inspiration, and illustrations. He just gets better and better with his VERY special books. Highly Recommended. Grady Harp, May 15

How does it make you feel? The author, Assaf Marcus, is well know for his children's stories, where he provides lessons learned. In this story, we meet Sharon. She is a nice little girl, but at this time she is feeling very stressed and worried about several things. She has a ballet recital, she has to prepare for a math test, and she had a spelling bee in two days. On her way home she decided to go and talk to her father in the restaurant he owned. Her father was glad to see her, but he could tell she was troubled. Sharon told her father about her worries. Her father talked with her and prepared, carrots, eggs and tea. When you read this story, you will begin to understand the lessons learned from Sharon's father.Parents/teachers will enjoy reading this book to their children. The children will learn about worries and stress, and maybe a little bit about how to control them. The illustrations by Oliver Bundoc, are colorful, vibrant and alive, they help to tell the story of Sharon and her worries. I use the word worries, because that is what my daughter used to talk about when she had issues, her worries. Every child may have a different name for what causes them stress and concern. It is important to talk to your parents about this, because they can help you. Note: a complimentary copy of this book was provided to read and review.Recommended. prisrob 05-17-15
