About the Author Sarah Frances Hardy is a children’s author, illustrator, and professional painter. A former lawyer, Hardy studied art at the Parsons School of Design and has had her paintings featured in galleries and commercial establishments. She is the author and illustrator of two books: Puzzled by Pink (Houghton Mifflin) and Paint Me! (Sky Pony Press). Hardy lives with her husband and three daughters in Oxford, Mississippi.

This book sparks Alice’s creativity and what to dress up as next! Because girls really can be and do anything we WANT!! While Alice is still to young to really grasp the concept of a career, the NaNa wants to encourage her to be whatever she wants to be, a fireman, a plumber, a doctor in the family would be really nice; ya know, just sayin’.This is a great book with simple text that Alice enjoys thoroughly. Each page has about 2 words each. Alice is in the beginning stages of reading this book is a great addition to our site word work. Alice loves watching the little girl in the story playing dress-up. Will she be a lawyer or a doctor? Or maybe she’ll be a plumber!! This little girl isn’t just playing dress up, she’s imagining careers! This sweet book is beautifully illustrated with fun pictures and great costumes.The end of the book sends a message that while playing dress-up is fun, you’ll be the most comfortable dressing up as yourself.I am all for any book that sparks creative play! AND with simple text Alice is able to read this book to ME! That’s always a plus!! This didn't captivate my 6-year-old fashionista granddaughter as much as I expected. Her age group seems to favor more brightly colored books.
