By Amber Morgan After reading the first book of the series, I was pleasantly surprised by the original take on YA novels. Knowing that second books rarely live up to the original, I began this book with lowered expectations. That was completely unnecessary as this book not only lived up to, but surpassed the original. As soon as I started the book, I was unable to put it down until I was finished, and then immediately had to reread it! I am not going to discuss any plot points as there are enough twists and turns to keep you turning the pages and I do not want to spoil them, but I will say I enjoyed the further fleshing out of the characters and continuation of story lines from the first book. It would work well as a stand alone novel as well, but it was much more enjoyable as a follow up to the first book. My daughter is 11 and she enjoys these books, and while there are serious themes, I find that they are age appropriate for her, as well as enjoyable for me.

2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Good Book, but the author needed a proof reader. By Tod This is an enjoyable story. One constructive comment to make is that the author changed a character name from Ken to Eric. He did this by using a find and replace all. Thus the word taken becomes taEric. I found this to be annoying. Had the author taken the time to reread or have a friend/proof reader look at it he could have fixed it.
