About the Author The authors are real paramedics! Chris and Nicole have over twenty years of combined experience in Emergency Medical Services. They want to pass on their experiences in a way that children will discover what to expect if they ever find themselves or others in need of Emergency Medical Services. Frederick the Paramedic is designed to engage the reader as Fredericks partner on an ambulance. Together, Frederick and your child will check out the equipment that is stocked in a real ambulance. By Robin Lee This is a very interesting story about "Fredrick The Paramedic"........After reading this I felt it was more for teaching children to wear they safety gear such as , helmet or knee pads.....You can get into some bad falls or accidents while skateboarding or riding your bike......It will also spark creativity and imagination in children for what they want to be when they grow up........I think adults will also enjoy this story and have them prepared in some first aide items to have in the home.........I appreciate that the author put the words right along side the illustrations because children get distracted easily.......The illustrations are big, bright and colorful....Shows nicely on my niece's Kindle..........Frederick the Paramedic is to the rescue.....12 year old Tommie was skateboarding without safety gear and got injured.....Suffered some cuts and bumps and needs to go to the Hospital......Some come along for the day and see what you learn......This is gaged more for children 6-10 years old......

Champney Jr. This story is told by Frederick the Paramedic to the reader who plays the role of his partner. Frederick and the reader check the ambulance's supplies, get dispatched to the skateboard park, and interact with police and firefighters on scene. They assess, treat, and transport Tommie who hurt his arm while skating without safety gear. The narrative provides a child appropriate glimps into a day in the life of a paramedic. The illustrations are vibrant and add to the story. Children are reminded of the importance of safety gear. Some words may be a bit difficult for early readers such as "Stethoscope"or "Dispatching." My children are age six and eight and they were able to read them without difficulty. Then again, I work as a paramedic so the terms of my vocation aren't new to them.

Both were good books about EMS and my children enjoyed them. "Frederick" is about safety and the other book is more a "Day in the Life". Both were enjoyable.
